2005 Three Coins Syrah

Garnet, violet color. Aromas of ripe mulberries and melted toffee have a hint of grilled red pepper and vanilla and follow through on a bright entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium body with tart apple skin, custard, and pomegranate notes. Finishes with a smooth, even nutshell-like tannin fade. A balanced, Old World styled syrah.

It’s 100% Syrah from Betsy’s Vineyard in Knight’s Valley, with layered notes of cherry, blackberry, and black currant, lingering enticingly as flavors of dark cocoa mingle on the palate. The winery recommends pairing this with grilled lamb chops and potatoes au gratin.
